When we got home on Monday Shane put up the mailbox.

On Tuesday my dad was cutting down a tree so we went to check it out. Jonathan thought it was pretty interesting.

Wednesday was busy as well. But with my mom’s help we were able to get some stuff in the cold storage.

And today Shane was home a little bit early so we took Jonathan down to my parents house to try and teach him how to ride his bike without training wheels (the ground is a lot smoother there!).

Sorry for the delay in posting! We didn’t get internet until yesterday and today my keyboard decided to not work. Shane picked one up on the way home that is very squeaky. But at least I don’t have to use the on-screen keyboard with the mouse…it’s like learning how to type all over again!

Alisa and Ren

March 27, 2008

On Sunday I got to take pictures of Alisa and Ren. I think the best part of it all was Karl’s leaping!! ;) But I think that Alisa and Ren are a cute couple. Here’s a few of my favorite pictures from Sunday…

Moving day…March 22nd

March 27, 2008

It was a crazy morning! Shane had the truck by 8:00 am and it was all loaded by 10:30. Aaron and Trey came, and so did KC. Our neighbors the Halvorsens came over and helped as well… It went pretty quick thanks to all their help! We had a few odds and ends, and we forgot everything in the fridge! But Shane got some food on the way back from returning the truck.

Sean escaped but I caught him with the camera!

We got to the house around 11:00 and Shane started to unload the truck. At about 2:00 Wade showed up with Roland and Aubrey. He helped us get the big stuff in the house, and we finished unloading all the boxes. This is how we looked and felt at the end of the day!

Sean's First Haircut

March 21, 2008

Yay! Sean doesn’t look like a girl anymore!

Here is the before picture. He wasn’t sure why he was sitting there and I wasn’t getting any food :) Then Alisa started cutting and he didn’t want anything to do with it. It took a little while to get it all done, but she said he was better than some kids she has done… Thanks for doing it Alisa!

Here is the aftermath! You can see all the hair on his pajamas (and probably on the graham cracker that we had to bribe him with!)

Afterwards we gave him a bath and he seemed pretty happy! Here he is going after something in the closet… at least he didn’t want me to hold him for once :)

Packing

March 20, 2008

I’ve been so busy today that time just flew by. I went and cleaned our new house (just about done with that). When I got home I started packing a few boxes and decided I should get a picture in. (Thanks Justin for letting me use the strobe!)

Shane took down the shelves in the garage and got everything out of the crawl space. This is just the beginning…tomorrow we will pack up everything but the kitchen sink!

Sean

March 19, 2008

I know, I know… he needs a haircut! He is starting to look like a girl. But I wanted to have enough hair to keep for his memory book… He’s getting his haircut on Friday :) … And yes, that is the day before we move, but it’s free and I take what I can get from family! Thanks Alisa!

Sean at the new house

March 15, 2008

We were at the house cleaning and doing some other random things. Before leaving I got these pictures of Sean. Here he is in our shower. It’s a good thing he didn’t try to jump off!

And here he is playing peek-a-boo!

Out at the boat harbor

March 13, 2008

So today I went out to the lake. Actually I did yesterday too! But I was intrigued by a few geese so I went again today and took Jonathan. He had fun throwing rocks in the lake. But it was really cold and windy so we didn’t stay too long. I got this picture, which ended up in my Project 365 set.

And here is a picture of the geese… this was after they charged at me while honking and pecking at me!

The day before…

March 11, 2008

So the day before the final inspection everything looks great! We should pass with no problems. This is good since we need all of the moons and stars to align in order to get the funding from the bank to pay the construction loan by their deadline. Andrew came down on Monday to work on the final grading around the house. He had someone else come down and finish up today. The yard looks a WHOLE LOT better now that everything is pretty level, and all the junk is mostly cleaned up (at least in one pile!). This is the back yard, which was the worst of it.

20080311-img_3626.jpg

We got the shower doors on (which was another thing that needed to be done for the inspection). They also installed the mirrors, and the glass in our cabinets.

20080311-img_3623.jpg

And we finally got our fridge… and hopefully dryer by now! I got a call from RC Willey at 6:30 this morning saying they couldn’t deliver the dryer because they didn’t have a new ticket written up for it. Well that’s not my problem, it’s theirs! So I called up customer service and they got it on another truck and were supposed to deliver it between 7 and 9 pm! Luckily Mom said they would go up there whenever they called so that they could let them in.

While I was waiting around I cleaned a few cupboards while the kids played around. Then we went outside and I started cleaning up some garbage, and picking up rocks. We will be picking up a lot of rocks this summer! I think we will work something out with Jonathan so that for every bucket he fills up we will give him a quarter or whatever… you’ve gotta love child labor! ;) They will have to be small buckets so he can carry them!

Today we spent the day at the house cleaning up the yard and washing windows. It was a pretty boring day. But at least Neal showed up to work. He actually has one room finished…the kitchen! Still not quite done with the master shower. He just has some shelves to put up and put a sealer coat on the travertine in the two bathrooms. Here he is putting in the seat in our shower.

Shane worked on our temporary sidewalk and steps. They are crooked, but who cares! We will be taking them out in a few months to pour permanent steps. Besides it gives it character, and if I wanted it fixed I would have to do it ;)

And on the way home Jonathan fell asleep in the car. Sean got bored and was just staring into space.
