Last night we needed a break from the kids, so Shane and I decided to take a drive up the canyon. It was soooo quiet! At the top we stopped to take a few pictures. The leaves aren’t changing yet, but the aspens were just wonderful! And the light as the sun set was awesome. Here are a few pictures.

Canyon drive
August 29, 2009First grade here we come!
August 19, 2009Today is the first day of school. Jonathan is officially in 1st grade! Yesterday we went to meet his teacher Ms. Hitchcock. She’s brand new, right out of college, with lots of enthusiasm and excited to teach the kids. She’ll do a great job! Jonathan warmed up to her pretty quick!
Today we got up early mostly because Sean was sick. He’s got a 24hr bug of some sort. Jonathan was fine so I decided to go ahead and send him to school. But he missed the bus! Partly my fault, because I thought it was coming later. He was completely ready with his backpack on for 30 minutes. We were in the living room and all the sudden a bus zipped by. He didn’t even bother to stop! So I thought, well maybe it was just one of the other buses. But sure enough 30 minutes later, Jonathan was still waiting. So I drove him out to the school. So here are a couple pictures from this morning’s wait!

Family Reunion
August 15, 2009I’m finally getting these up from last weekend! We had Shane’s family reunion last Saturday at Yuba Lake. We rented a boat and everyone got to go out on the lake. . They had wakeboards and a tube. Most of my pictures on the lake are of kids being flung to and fro on the tube! I think they had some fun! Thanks to Kirston for getting it all put together!
So here are a few of my favorites. There are a LOT more pictures here for those interested (i.e. not many of you… unless you want to see Jenny flying through the air!)

My favorite part was the Secret Garden! They made it just like in the book! I was giddy with excitement walking through the tunnel.
