Ok, so it officially started last week, but Jonathan keeps telling me that fall starts when October starts.
Anyway, we drove up the canyon last Friday to enjoy the fall colors, and for me to do some location scouting for my shoot on Saturday. Here are a few pictures of where we are going. I’m so excited!

And here is the family!

The Carlsons | Utah county family portraits
September 12, 2009I was able to do a session for a good friend from high school on Friday. Her family was so fun to work with and I’m glad that I got to meet her husband and kids! Of course I couldn’t wait to see what I got so I downloaded everything once I got home, and I couldn’t help but do some editing. So here’s a sneak peek!
Joshua the serious one.

Kyle with all the poses.

Katie the cheesy one! She said she was embarrased which I thought was just cute.

And the baby, Kaleb.

So thanks Risae. I hope this keeps you satisfied until I get the rest done!
Just having fun
September 6, 2009Yesterday we took a little break and took the kids on a hike. We went up to the grotto in Payson canyon. It’s an easy hike for the kids and they had a good time. Jonathan keeps telling me that he was nervous when we first started, but when we got to the waterfall he wasn’t. Silly kid! Sean was fun to watch walking across the logs. He just shuffled all the way across. On the way down he held my hand and just had a fun time running down the hill. It was good for all of us to just get out and enjoy nature for a while!

There are more pictures here.
Projects
September 4, 2009So I’ve been a little m.i.a lately because of a lot of stuff going on, and all these little projects I keep coming up with. The latest project that I just finished today was this.

Ignore the tag! I haven’t tried it on Megan yet. I have a feeling it will be loooong. The pattern was a S (for 12-18 lbs.) and she is just barely 12 lbs.
Also on the list of sewing related creative projects:
- 2 pairs of pajama pants for Jonathan (one done)
- 2 pajama shirts for Jonathan
- About a dozen of these bibs for when Megan starts eating food
- Bumper pads for Megan’s crib (She is actually starting to roll to her side, so I better get on those quick!)
- Hem living room and closet curtains and complete tiebacks
- Kitchen curtains (I’ve had the fabric since before we moved in. It’s obviously a high priority.)
Here is Shane’s list:
- Work
- School
- Keep the lawn and trees alive
- Kill all the weeds (This will never be accomplished in this lifetime, as long as we live in Genola!)
- Finish front sidewalk (Lots of things left to do with this.)
- Hang drywall in basement (Enough to block off the unfinished rooms, and the ceiling in the family room.)
- Stock pile firewood for the winter
My list is much more fun!
