To a Happy New Year!

December 31, 2009

So I’ve been pondering what I want to improve on in 2010.  There’s a lot!  Too much to put down here for sure. :)     But I do want to say that I think it will be a good year.  I’m looking forward to all the things that I want to accomplish.

One thing that I will share here today is that I am going to do another “Year in Pictures” project.  I know I could start it any day of the year, but I’m kind of OCD about this stuff!  So I’m starting on Jan. 1st.  I will take pictures everyday and share one each day.  There might be extras on some days but that’s just icing on the cake!

And because no post is complete without a picture… here is a picture from one year ago.  We had a big snowstorm come through on the night of January 2nd.  The next morning I got up before sunrise and, while still in my pj’s, went trapesing through the snow taking pictures.  It was such a great morning, so quiet with the fresh snow.  I’m looking forward to many more days like that to share with all of you!

Gary is going to the MTC on Wednesday to serve a mission in Guatemala. His mom called me on Saturday saying they needed family pictures before they left! So I obliged :) It was pretty cold, but we toughed it out and got a lot of good pictures. I glanced through them and here are two that stand out!

The quality isn’t the best.  And ignore me talking!

Opening presents

December 25, 2009

For the record, Sean was up first.  Although Megan had me up all night long every couple of hours.

Jonathan is definitely trouble!  He also got an RC truck which he loves!

Sean was just silly all day… well everyday!

And since Megan slept through the whole “morning” of opening presents I didn’t get any shots of her, just this movie.

And here’s a slideshow of the rest of the morning.  Enjoy!

Shane's Birthday

December 25, 2009

Before I get into Christmas day I need to tell you what we did for Shane’s birthday, which is Christmas Eve.  Really, we didn’t do much.  We drove to town for a few items.  Shane read a book.  We sang “Happy Birthday” and ate brownies.  It was a pretty relaxing day.  Here are a few pictures from his birthday party :)

Christmas wishes

December 24, 2009

Jonathan has been pretty excited for Christmas this year.  He made these notes for Santa a few weeks ago.  I am just getting around to taking pictures of them.  He stuck them under the tree and I kind of put it in the back of my mind.

Inside the bag was a picture of Santa, for Santa!

It is now 8:30 on Christmas Eve.  The boys are asleep, surprisingly after what a rucous we have made with the chalkboard.  Santa has arrived and left presents, and now we just need to get Megan to bed!

Merry Christmas Everyone!  I will post tomorrow at some point I’m sure!

Milestones

December 16, 2009

Yesterday Megan turned 8 months old.
Megan 8 months
She is still just sitting. No rolling over. No crawling. Which is all perfectly fine with me since I can do a project without her getting into it!
No teeth yet. Yay!
She is definitely a mama’s girl; but dad can get her to laugh!

Happy Birthday Sean!

Sean reflectingToday Sean turned 3!  It was a little anti-climatic because Jonathan wasn’t around all day to keep Sean excited.  I asked Sean if he wanted to help make a cake and he said, “No mom, you make a cake for me.”  I asked him what kind and he said, “Me.”  That left it all up for interpretation by mom, so I made chocolate!  Devil’s food cake with fluffy cream cheese frosting to be exact.  It was yummy!  He waited so patiently all day to eat it too.  He would come upstairs for a while and ask about the cake.  He watched me make it, and only spilled one thing!  He got to lick the beaters twice, because Jonathan wasn’t around to eat the other one!  After it was out of the oven he wanted to eat it, and who blames him!  But I told him we had to wait for Grandma Garner to come and we would have it then.  When Grandma came we ate dinner and he was sad that he had to eat dinner first.  He got to go play in the snow with Jonathan at a friends house while I made dinner and wrapped his present.  Thanks to Beverly for picking them up since I got stuck in our driveway backing out into the snow!

Here is a slideshow of his birthday activities.

So here is a little bit about Sean at 3.

He is still a red head (and everything that goes with it!).  I doubt that will ever change.

He has a few faint freckles under his eyes.  So cute!

He is 3 feet tall.

He is quiet, when he wants to be.  He will play quietly by himself for hours, but with Jonathan around they get pretty rowdy.

He loves his big brother and wants to do everything he does.  He misses him while he is at school.

He likes to make Megan laugh.  And then tell me that Megan laughed!

He still wakes up early!

He is thoughtful.

He says he’s sorry when he has an accident.  If Grandma tells him not to do something, he gets sad and puts himself in “time-out”.

He gets excited when he accomplishes something… anything.  He jumps up and down and says “I did it! I did it!”  Even if it is something he’s done a dozen times.

He loves to give us hugs and kisses.

We love Sean and we are glad he is in our family.

I have been MIA for the last week or so because of all the crazy things that I want and need to do.  Besides the usual keeping the house from over running me and the kids I have been working on Christmas gifts for the kids.  I made robes for the boys, which turned out pretty cool.  Not to hard, unless you sew up the arm holes because you had 2 minutes to sit down and sew and didn’t think about what you were actually doing.  Only I would do that! :)   For Megan I made a little doll.  And when I say little I mean itsy-bitsy tiny!  It’s only 4 inches tall.  See here.

On top of that I decided to do an Etsy shop. I wanted to get it going before Thanksgiving, but just didn’t get to it. So yesterday I added my first items, hooray! If you want to check it out it is here.  I’ll be adding more images throughout the week.  Below is one of the things that has taken the most time to get ready for the shop.
