A family wedding!

August 31, 2010

My neice was married on Friday, and it was such a beautiful day! Until the wind and rain picked up right before the reception :) But they all survived. I took a few pictures at the temple that I thought I would share with you. Enjoy! If you want to see the rest you can click here.

You must agree, that I do have some pretty darn cute kids!  I wanted to update our wall with some new pictures of the kids.  I’ll use one from this shoot with Jonathan, and one from this shoot with Megan.  But I needed to get some of Sean.  Megan had just had a bath and smelled pretty, so I took her out too!

These turned out great!  The light in the orchard is just perfect in the evening.  I’m kind of sad though because they are taking the trees out in August.  They were planted when I was 7 or 8 years old so they are ready to come out.  But I won’t be able to just go outside my backyard and take some fun pictures like this anymore.  I’m trying to do it a lot this summer before they are gone!  So, if you’ve been wanting some pictures like these, you should setup a time to come play in our orchard!

Birthday “days”

June 6, 2010

So, here are a few of the activities over the weekend of Jonathan’s birthday.

Birthday cake.  Jonathan wanted to have cake and ice cream at Grandma Perry’s with all (most) of his cousins.  So we made it a day early.  He wanted yellow cake with blue icing. (Not the yucky icing, but cream cheese frosting, yum!)

He blew out all but two of his candles.  How come you didn’t tell me you had two girlfriends, Jonathan?!Jonathan got a buzz cut!  He wanted one for the summer and since he had a “J” shaved on his head for crazy hair day we had to finish out the rest.Jonathan was buried in the garden by his cousins.  He had a lot of fun getting all dirty!  And then had a bath afterword.Jonathan enjoyed his treasure hunt from last year and asked if he could do it again.   So on his actual birthday Shane put together a little hunt for him.And he found his present in my purse :)   Lego Indiana Jones.Grandma and Grandpa Garner came up for leftover cake and ice cream, and had a book for him.

Jonathan turned 7!

June 3, 2010

So I took these pictures over a week ago because I knew it would be crazy trying to get them over the Holiday weekend.  So here are a bunch of my faves from our little session!  I let him just kind of play around and didn’t tell him to do much.  It’s fun to just catch his BIG young mind working. :)

Next up, Jonathan’s actual birthday celebrations.

If you want pictures like this for your kids, then give me a call!

So we have some pretty silly kids!  Here is the proof…

5.15.10  Sean wanted to be out in the field with Jonathan.  Then he saw grandma and grandpa and ran right between the hitter and the catcher!

Jonathan was waiting for his turn to hit.  But he wasn’t very “ready” to catch the balls!
Here he is actually hitting it!  They had a pitching machine for the Hit-a-Thon to raise money for baseball.  He got 10 out of 20!  Not bad :)

5.17.10
Megan had the craziest hair-do! I did her hair earlier in a pony-tail and clipped it down so it wasn’t sticking straight up. After her nap, and after dinner, this is what she looked like!

So the main reason I bought this chair is for Megan’s pictures!  But it’s useful for many others, so if you like what you see then give me a call…

We started with some great warm light from the sunset.  I used a flash and shoot-through umbrella for fill light.

The standing picture didn’t work as well because… well she can’t stand! But she’s still cute!

The sun hid behind the clouds which gave a soft, cool light.

My favorite one of the day!

We got her on the chair once more, this time with her doll to keep her happy.

Megan’s birthday party

April 22, 2010

So just a few quick highlights, and for those who want to see the whole thing, a slideshow from Megan’s 1st birthday.
Yes this pizza is bigger than Megan, but she loved it!

She had one bath after dinner and got all dolled up!

The boys helped Megan out… it was a whirlwind!

Bags are better than the presents in them… at least for a 1 year old!

Shane brought in the cakes and she immediately started scooting to them. The boys got the candles blown out before she could grab them.

Eating her cake. She loved the frosting! She got a little bit of cake too!

The messy face!

I’m still alive and well and now I have my computer back up and running. Hooray!! I didn’t forget about the giveaway either. So the winner of the April giveaway is…

#2

Oh, I think I’ll pick the fourth one. I saw that one printed off at your house and I LOVE the colors

I actually have an additional print of that on hand so just let me know when I can drop it off!

And to hold your attention just a bit longer… here is one sneak peek from Sunday’s pictures. I have a lot to share with all of you so just be patient. I’ll get all organized again and get caught up.

Just so you know he left grandma’s house crying that he wanted a baby cat! We might actually get one this year… we’ll see :)

Our family pictures

January 17, 2010

Ok, so I’m finally getting around to posting some of our family pictures.  I did some on my own out in the orchard.  We had one turn out, kind of!But I also wanted to get some pictures done by someone other than me.  I had been following a lot of different photographers and I really like what Alli Miles does.  Her color and style is great and she captures some unique perspectives.  Definitely stuff I couldn’t get of myself and Shane!  So here are a few of my favorites from the session she did for us.

Sean was being a little skittish so it took a while for him to warm up.

It was so cold that day!  I felt bad for Megan… she didn’t want to be out there at all!

And finally my favorite of Shane and myself. Thanks Alli!  It was a great time even though it was freezing.  You did a wonderful job!

My neice had her baby a couple of weeks ago.  Good thing too since she was ready to pop at Christmas!  I’m finally getting around to posting these.  I took them at 9 days old.  These are my two favorites from the shoot.  I’ll admit I’m not the best at newborns, but I just need more practice… right?!
