As most of you know, I’m a busy mom of 3 kids. My husband is working full time (thankfully!) and finishing his bachelor’s degree. When he is home he’s doing homework, so we don’t “see” much of him! I’ve been doing photography for a few years now with a little help from friends here and there. And I LOVE it! Everytime I get behind the camera I get excited about what I’m creating. I love to download the pictures to the computer and see something new just jump out at me. Mostly I’ve tried to learn and do things on my own. As you can tell it’s been a slow process, as I haven’t had much time of my own. My learning time is a few minutes here, and there. Maybe an hour or two after the kids are in bed. You may have noticed that I do shoot and post everyday. This has been probably the only consistent thing I’ve done, and it has helped me a lot.
So why am I writing about this? Well Brooke Snow is giving away a weekend mentoring session. What an awesome opportunity! This is just what I need! Something to help motivate me, build confidence, and answer questions that I have. It will help me with my photography to watch someone who has done this a lot more than I have! I know that I would come away from this a better person and photographer. So “For the love of photography” go on over to her blog and vote for me to win this mentoring session. And help me out even more by sharing this with your friends and asking them to vote.
Thanks!
Oh and what is a post without a picture?! This is an out-take from yesterday.

My nephew’s wife (which makes her my neice-in-law!) Laurie, is doing a fundraiser for her father who has cancer. She asked around for volunteers, and I said I would do some sewing for her. Then I thought I could also donate some of my other talents in photography. So I offered to donate two portrait sessions to be raffled at the fundraiser.
