A new year!

January 2, 2009

Yesterday I completed my “Year in Pictures” project!  It was a long and difficult challenge, but it was well worth it!  I only missed one day on accident.  Here is the last picture for the year; a sunset from our back porch.  If you click on the link above, you can see a slideshow of the year.  There is a lot of pictures of my kids, and many random images from late nights trying to find something to take a picture of.  Amazingly enough, there are a couple good ones in there!

I won’t be doing the same thing in 2009 though.  I think I will try and post at least one picture every week.  So check back every Monday for a new picture, or two!

You may have noticed the change to my blog back in November.  I have finally updated my website so that it looks as good as the blog!   I have updated the photo galleries and made a few other changes as well.  Go check it out and let me know what you think.

Merry Christmas!

December 25, 2008

We had a great day that started early, thanks to Sean!  He was up at his usual 5:30.  Shane stalled him for about 15 minutes and then let him have at it.  The kids had a great time, and Jonathan made sure that we all took turns (in a pattern!).  Jonathan got lots of games (Crazy 8′s, Pick up stix, Candy Land, etc.) and some clothes.  Sean got a few new toys and he is very happy with them!  We got them the Looney Toons and Jonathan thinks they are great!  I think they had a great day!

The Perry clan showed up around 1:00 for lunch, and we had a good time eating and visiting.  All the kids, especially Trex, were very excited to go sledding “on Shane’s four-wheeler”!  So after we ate, the kids and Shane got bundled up for a wet ride.  It was snowing this morning, but by the time they got out there it was raining.  So much for that big storm… it stayed in the Northern part of the county.

Anyway, here is Jonathan in the snow.  What a goof!  I think he was more disgusted with the gigantic snowball that he couldn’t move than with me taking a picture…

And here are some more pictures for those of you who care!

Yes, that’s my sister, and her fiance! See more here.

Day 307

Happy Birthday Grandpa Perry

Happy Birthday… Grandpa Perry! Since he is in Russia, we celebrated without him. Shane made the cake and I made the frosting. Jonathan blew out the candle! It was yummy! I don’t think there will be any left when you get home, grandpa!

Apple juice

October 25, 2008

For the last 15+ years we have made fresh apple juice at my Grandpa Smith’s house. He only has 2 trees, but they sure make a lot of apples! Since we are now living next door, we “get” first picking! It’s always hard work but a lot of fun. And a sip of fresh pressed apple juice is well worth it… ask Sean! This is after his first taste. He figured out where it was all coming from and grabbed the cup once it was free.

Day 291

Jonathan's new glasses
The day has arrived… well the glasses did anyway. We went and picked them up, and he wore them most of the afternoon. He was playing outside with some friends and said they kept falling down. We might need to get a string and tie it to him! They said they might slip a little, but that’s because his face is small… because he’s FIVE! He’s too cute! He picked these out all on his own, and they look great on him. Now we’ll see if they make it through school!
You can’t tell in the picture, but they are blue!  Jonathan wanted me to say that :)

Day 254

September 10, 2008

Sean eats bacon
It’s been a while since I have blogged anything. It’s pretty boring around our house now that Jonathan is in school! He has been pretty happy with school and loves to go everyday (mainly because of the bus!)
Anyway I thought I would do an update on Sean today. He is getting quite the little personality. When he is frustrated with anything he just starts saying “no, no, no, no”. His new favorite word! He is saying lots of things like book, hungry, drink, binkie, monkey (for when he wants to watch a movie). He is always wanting something to eat so he says please and thank you ALL the time.

He is teething right now so he doesn’t actually eat a whole lot, and if he does eat a lot it is because it is fruit! We will be bottling peaches next week, and we will probably get 2 bushel, but could use at least 3 bushel to get us through to next year! And that’s just peaches! He will eat anything that is a fruit!

In the picture above he is eating bacon. We had baked potatos, and he didn’t eat many potatos! He loves bacon, just like Shane!

Day 239

1st soccer game

Jonathan’s first soccer game was last night. He didn’t do too bad considering they hadn’t even practiced yet. We found out about it Monday night… Plus some of the other kids played last year so they have a leg up on him :)

More later today on his first day of school!

Another top pick!
